Canadians at Juno Beach on D-Day D-Day on June 6, 1944 was the most significant day in the history of war because it marked the end of WWII. The Royal Canadian Navy provided 109 vessels and 10,000 sailors as its contribution. They set up the Commonwealth air training program in Canada. In addition, Canadian troops were the first to advance farthest into France out of all the allies. The fighting they endured was fierce and frightening.
